Get ready for a genuine countryside escape as your local KIX host takes you beyond the Old Town and into the peaceful rural heart of Hoi An.
This morning scooter adventure begins with a ride through town to a lively local market just outside the city, where you’ll wander colorful stalls, sample exotic fruits and local snacks, snap photos, and chat with friendly vendors.
Back on the scooters, we head deep into the countryside, cruising along quiet backroads, crossing small bridges and weaving through endless rice paddies where daily life unfolds at an unhurried pace.
Along the way, we stop at a welcoming family home that has been making traditional Vietnamese muffin cakes for nearly two decades, where you’ll watch the process, try shaping a few yourself, and enjoy them fresh.
The ride continues to a rustic café overlooking sweeping rice fields, complete with a bamboo walkway to an old brick kiln — one of the area’s most photogenic spots and the perfect place to relax with a Vietnamese coffee or refreshing drink.
We then weave through small villages to visit another local family, where rice crackers and noodles are still made the traditional way; feel the steam, see the skill up close, and roll up your sleeves to try it yourself.
After more scenic riding along rivers and lush landscapes, we stop by a family-run rice wine distillery to learn the age-old craft, share a few laughs, raise a glass or two, and experience true countryside hospitality.
To finish, we cruise back to Hoi An over a classic iron bridge spanning the Thu Bon River, wrapping up a relaxed and authentic journey through the rural life that surrounds this historic town.

Plus you’ll get lots of face time with our KIX local hosts! If you are a solo traveler, don’t worry- our Hoi An scooter tours are guaranteed to depart once one person has booked.
Vietnam changes throughout the day, with different markets and different street scenes from one hour to the next- that’s one of the things we love about Hoi An ! So although our stops on this Hoi An Senses are the same, there are some slight differences in what you may see on the morning and the afternoon tours. But regardless of whether you join the morning or the afternoon, you are sure to capture some brilliant photos of local life and your host will share hidden gems of Hoi An that you wouldn’t be able to find on your own!
